Why I Love Japanese Food
I have recently posted a video of my last day in Las Vegas (linked below) where I spent my 2016 holiday. From that video, I stated how much I love Japanese food and right now I am thinking how my love for this type of cuisine began.
I am quite picky with my food choices (actually) but my mom introduced it to me and my sister because she wanted to teach us how to use chopsticks. It all started from that- gradually eating only tempura and katsudon. And eventually to different types of sushi and rolls. I do not enjoy raw food such as sashimi, and believe me I tried, but I can eat tempura and California rolls everyday and will not complain. So in the end, we learned how to eat with chopsticks and developed a love for Japanese food.
They say our taste buds change every seven years and that what you do not like to eat now could be something that your palate would enjoy in the future or vice versa. I believe this is true, but I will still not food with "bagoong" (shrimp paste) or "patis" (fish sauce).
We did a few errands on my last day in Las Vegas. The highlight of this day was our lunch at Makino. I love Japanese food (tempura and california rolls) so this made me extremely happy. Although the catch is that their regular rate becomes "holiday price" on well.. holidays.
